properganda in ww1... what does it mean ?
During World War 1, posters were used everywhere to spread messages to the public. Because there was no TV, internet, or social media at the time, posters were one of the best ways to get people’s attention. These posters were created by the government to make people think, feel, or act a certain way, especially about joining the army or supporting the war through impactful messages .

Propaganda in WW1 was a form of communication that tried to persuade people by appealing to their feelings and emotion rather than giving balanced information. It affected the war by making people believe that supporting the army was their duty and making them heros when in reality it was far off. One major type was recruitment propaganda, which aimed to convince men to enlist by using guilt, pride, masculinity, and responsibility , another type was patriotic propaganda, which encouraged people to feel loyal to their country and proud to be British and finally there was also fear‑based propaganda, which showed the enemy as dangerous and aggressive so people would feel the war was necessary to protect their home and loved ones . Home‑front propaganda encouraged women and families to save food, work in factories, and support soldiers in the war aswell as moral propaganda showed soldiers as heroes and suggested that not joining meant letting your country down and bieng a coward . All these types of propaganda worked together to boost recruitment, keep morale high, and make civilians feel part of the war effort.
