Women in ww1 / homefront

During World War I , the war transformed the home front into a "total war" zone where civilian labor and resource management became as vital as military action . The massive mobilization of men for the front lines necessitated a radical shift in the absence of workforce, empowering women to fill traditionally male roles in factories etc , leading to increased independence and a turning point in women's rights infact over 2 million women took on the responsibility roles of men during the war! Whilst frontline supporters ,thousands of women served as nurses, doctors, and ambulance drivers, often working near battlefronts. The Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) and similar units were created to free up men for combat and too look after injured soldiers.
